When you visit another town, you don’t always know the best place for lunch or coffee so sometimes it’s pot luck to come across a good one. This was exactly how I felt when I made arrangements to meet up with an old friend in Jimboomba recently. It was suggested we meet up at the shopping centre and I was really pleased we did.

Perks Cafe, Jimboomba

Open 7 days a week, Perks Café next to Woolworths in the Jimboomba Shopping Centre was very spacious with tables and chairs both in and outside; however we chose a booth inside. I prefer the booth style seating arrangement as you always have plenty of room to stow your handbag on the seat beside you rather than on the floor.

Spacious dining area inside

Each day of the week Perks Café has $10.00 lunch specials and I noticed Monday’s choice was Sandwiches and Chips which included the choice of BLT, Chicken & Avocado or Ham, Cheese & Tomato. Breakfasts can be purchased each day and we soon found out there was no cut off time for having breakfast as my friend ordered Bacon, Eggs and Toast for his lunch at a price of $9.50. I preferred a more traditional lunch and opted for a Chicken, Avocado and Roast Pumpkin Salad for $16.50. Half the delight in meeting friends for lunch is the surprise in the presentation of your meal and value for money. Perks Café didn’t disappoint.

My Chicken, Avocado & Roast Pumpkin Salad was very tasty

From cakes to pancakes for morning tea and burgers, salads and mains like Garlic Prawns and Mixed Grill for lunch, Perks Café as an extensive menu to suit all tastes. Most of the varieties of coffee were at a low price of $3.55 with the dearest being Mocha at $4.25.

Perks Café is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm and Saturdays/Sundays 8am to 3pm. The staff were very friendly and came up to our table to have a chat before they took our empty plates away.
